Physics Teacher Required - All-Girls Independent School in Sutton - January 2025 Start A leading independent school for girls in the vibrant borough of Sutton is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring Physics Teacher to join their thriving Science department.
This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025.
The Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Physics across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5, fostering a love of science and empowering young women to excel in STEM subjects.
Key responsibilities include: Planning and delivering engaging and challenging lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum and inspire students to develop a deep understanding of physical concepts and principles.
Creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation, scientific inquiry, and critical thinking.
Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
Utilizing a variety of teaching resources, including laboratory experiments, demonstrations, and technology, to enhance students' understanding and engagement with physics.
Collaborating with colleagues within the Science department to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's commitment to excellence in science education.
Promoting and supporting the participation of girls in STEM subjects and extracurricular activities.
The Successful Candidate will have: A degree in Physics or a closely related field.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
A strong understanding of the KS3, KS4, and (ideally) KS5 Physics curriculum.
Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for physics.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
A commitment to empowering girls and young women in STEM fields.
