About the role: Physics Teacher

We're excited to be expanding our GCSE, A-Level and T-Level provisions in our Surrey campuses, and as part of this we're looking to recruit a new Physics Teacher to join the team at Guildford College!

This post provides an excellent opportunity for a teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning.

Additionally, you will contribute to the development of the curriculum and resources for Physics, participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and school events, and support extracurricular activities or clubs related to the subject area.

This is a permanent, part-time role working 28 hours per week (0.76 FTE).

In this position, Physics Teacher, you may be eligible to apply for an additional payment of up to £6000 from the Targeted Retention Incentive payment scheme. This is available for eligible teachers in their first 5 years of teaching in Further Education.

What do you need to be a successful Physics Teacher at Activate Learning?

We are looking for people who can act as role models for our students and ensure that they leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work. A genuine interest in working with and developing young people is a requirement.

Whilst previous teaching experience or qualification would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. As long as you have the qualifications or experience to teach on our Physics courses and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, we can provide you with the necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.

Your communication and interpersonal skills will be outstanding and support your ability to deliver interesting and purposeful lessons to a diverse range of learners. You will also have strong organisation skills coupled with the ability to prioritise workloads and will benefit from being part of a supportive team, working in a varied and interesting role with a variety of opportunities for career development.
