BAT is offering a 12-month placement in Southampton for students currently pursuing a degree in Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mathematics or related subjects. Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mathematics or a related subject.
- Placement lasts 12 months starting 1 September 2027.
- Opportunity to apply degree knowledge to a research and development setting.
Responsibilities
- Support live projects by using simulation and modelling for concept evaluation, insights generation, and design optimisation.
- Develop tools and processes to make simulation more accessible to the wider business.
- Analyse and report simulation data to support decision-making.
- Support experimental campaigns for simulation validation and verification purposes.
- Conduct activities to support product development and/ or develop product science knowledge.
- Synthesize data packages to help the business make decisions.
- Design and plan projects to deliver scientific workstreams.
- Demonstrate and develop problem-solving abilities.
- Present learnings and provide project updates to team and across R&D.
