Job summary

IOP Publishing in the United Kingdom is seeking an Associate Editor on a full-time 12-month fixed-term contract, ideally with a background in physical sciences, to join our Publishing team on a full-time basis. The Associate Editor applies sound scientific judgement and works collaboratively, providing a quality and efficient peer-review process across a portfolio of journals.

The role reports to the Peer Review Team Manager and collaborates with Editors, Publishing Service Assistants and other

Qualifications

• Experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent attention to detail and decision-making ability.
• Excellent time management, planning and team-working skills.
• Scientific undergraduate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage peer review on a number of titles within the portfolio.
• Maintain peer review turnaround times and acceptance levels.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to increase peer review efficiency and quality.
• Work with different teams to identify key articles for promotion and improve journal visibility.
