Job summary

ProMedical Personnel Ltd in the UK is seeking a Consultant in Elderly Care Medicine to support services in the South West on a long-term locum basis.

You will work Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00, ASAP to 30 April 2027, delivering high-quality care across acute and rehabilitation wards and leading multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with licence to practise.
• NHS Consultant-level experience in Elderly Care, Geriatric Medicine, or Stroke Medicine.
• Strong clinical and communication skills.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to elderly and frail patients across acute and rehabilitation services.
• Support stroke services including Acute Stroke Unit and Stroke Rehabilitation pathways.
• Participate in daily Stroke Rapid Access Clinics.
• Manage ward-based patients and contribute to multidisciplinary team decision making.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Provide clinical leadership and support to junior medical staff where appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with nursing, therapy, and wider healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective patient care.

This is a long-term locum opportunity offering a consistent Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00 working pattern from ASAPto 30 April 2027, providing excellent continuity and stability.

The successful candidate will support services across a few wards, such asthe Stroke Rehabilitation Unit, and daily Stroke Rapid Access Clinics, working alongside established multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
