Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust in Blackburn is seeking a Physician Associate to provide expert support in the Diabetes & Endocrinology Directorate. You will work under a supervising Consultant, participate in rounds and clinics, and contribute to governance and teaching within the team.

The post is Band 7, fixed-term for 12 months, 37.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 08:00-16:00). Salary range £49,387–£56,515 with NHS terms and conditions.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate Diploma in PA (Accredited UK).
• Basic Life Support certification.
• NCEPA certification (Royal College of Physicians).
• Experience as PA in hospital or community setting.
• Registered with Faculty of Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Body.
• Completed 1 year post-graduate preceptorship.
• ILS/ALS or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess and examine patients, initiate investigations and plan management.
• Participate in ward rounds, medical triage and clinics under supervision.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and document patient plans.

• Current and valid certification or re-certification of the National Certifying Examinations for Physicians Associates (Royal College of Physicians)
• Experience working as a Physician Associate in hospital or community setting
• Registered on the Faculty of Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Body
• Passed and completed 1 year post graduate preceptorship
• Advanced Life support course certification e.g. ILS, ALS or P
