As a per diem Therapist, the employee supports the overall Mission and Vision of Valley Health by providing high-quality, best-practice services to its customers. The therapist may be employed in various rehab settings, is an active member of the interdisciplinary team, responds to physician referrals, assesses the patient's skilled and medically necessary needs, and provides discipline-specific interventions to improve safety and functional independence. Feedback from the therapist is crucial for patient progression through the continuum of care.
The therapist is responsible for maintaining professional competence, identifying educational needs, seeking learning opportunities, and mentoring less experienced therapists. They must deliver services efficiently, adhere to licensure, documentation, and billing guidelines, and stay current with departmental and organizational initiatives. Maintaining professional communication and supporting program development are also key responsibilities.
Post Graduate Certificate, Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
Basic computer skills or participation in computer training within the first year. Competence in interacting with patients of various ages, based on age-specific competencies. Demonstrated proficiency in discipline-specific interventions based on experience and setting.
