Now Hiring! Physical Therapist – Assisted Living Facility

Location: Shrewsbury, New Jersey

Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Schedule: Monday to Friday (9 AM – 5 PM)

Compensation: $100,000 to $120,000 + benefits

About Us:

We’re currently seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) who is passionate about working with older adults in a calm, residential setting. This is a great opportunity to practice meaningful, patient-centered therapy while helping residents maintain the freedom and confidence they need to enjoy daily life.

As a Physical Therapist in our Assisted Living Facility, you’ll evaluate residents, develop customized therapy plans, and implement treatment strategies focused on mobility, balance, fall prevention, strength, and functional independence. You’ll work collaboratively with nurses, caregivers, and wellness staff to promote a safe and engaging environment for each resident.

Your Role:

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and providing treatments to patients with musculoskeletal disorders. You will create personalized treatment plans, assist with recovery, and guide patients through rehabilitation programs to improve mobility, strength, and overall function.

Job Duties:

  1. Conduct physical therapy evaluations for new and existing residents
  2. Create individualized treatment plans tailored to each resident’s goals
  3. Provide one-on-one therapy sessions in residents' apartments or onsite therapy spaces
  4. Monitor progress, adjust treatment as needed, and document all care in EMR system
  5. Collaborate with wellness and nursing staff on safety, exercise, and fall prevention programs
  6. Educate residents and families on mobility strategies, assistive devices, and home programs

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Active New Jersey Physical Therapist License (required)
  2. Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT, MPT, or equivalent)
  3. Current CPR/BLS certification
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  5. Compassion for working with older adults and residents with chronic conditions
  6. Ability to work independently and manage a flexible caseload
  7. Previous experience in assisted living, senior living, or geriatrics
  8. Familiarity with EMR systems and Medicare Part B documentation
  9. Experience with fall risk assessments, mobility aids, and balance retraining
  10. Knowledge of wellness programming or group therapy in senior care
