Job Advert - Division Information

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Physical Healthcare Nurse to join our dynamic team. Our mission is to ensure that all patients receive the highest standard of physical healthcare, guided by best practices and clinical evidence.

What you will be doing:

  • Provide support to the Nursing and wider MDTs in ensuring the patients in the defined area have their physical healthcare nursing needs identified, care planned, and evaluated in accordance with best practice and clinical evidence.
  • Offer advice and support to colleagues at the site regarding physical healthcare needs, including infection control, screening programmes, and site-specific requirements depending on the clinical specialty.
  • Be the site lead for Infection Prevention and Control.

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Registered General Nurse (RGN), with at least 2 years post-registration experience, active NMC registration, and completed preceptorship programme. Consideration will be given to nurses registered in mental health or learning disabilities services if they demonstrate competence in the role's requirements.
  • Qualified Mentor or willing to achieve this within 12 months of starting the role.
  • Knowledge of NMC guidelines and professional practices.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development post-registration.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement, and quality.
  • Ability to develop and apply flexible and innovative approaches to practice.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
