Job summary

Priory Hospital Kneesworth House is seeking an experienced Physical Healthcare Nurse to join a level 2 rehabilitation service for adults. You will perform physical health assessments, oversee care plans, and deliver ECG, phlebotomy and wound care, while training nursing staff and leading infection control audits.

The role is full-time, weekday daytime hours, with vehicle access recommended due to limited public transport. A minimum of two years post-registration experience is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years post-registration experience in a physical healthcare environment.
• Evidence of continued professional development.

Responsibilities

• Carry out physical healthcare assessments on admission.
• Document and elevate patient information accurately.
• Oversee physical healthcare care plans and prescribe within competency.
• Provide ECG, phlebotomy and wound care services.
• Support and train nursing staff in chronic disease management.
• Prepare clinical reports and discharge documentation.
• Liaise with primary care on screening, vaccinations and ongoing health reviews.
• Lead infection prevention and control audits.
• Manage medical devices.
• Deliver smoking cessation, health education and public health initiatives.
• Develop an annual health promotion programme.
• Work collaboratively with regional physical healthcare nurses and take part in clinical supervision and reflective practice.
