Job Title: Physical Chemist – Global Agrochemical Company

Contract: 12 months (likely to be extended)

Salary: £20.47 per hour

SRG are working with a global Agrochemical company that are seeking a Physical Chemist to join their busy team. They are looking for a chemistry related graduate with some industrial experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyse samples using chromatographic techniques such as GC and HPLC.
  • Measuring, understanding and modelling the physical properties that we use to help design and develop the next generation of agrochemicals.
  • Using a range of different techniques you will demonstrate the flexibility, organisational ability and motivation to deliver high-quality experimental data to tight deadlines.
  • You will also work with scientists from a range of disciplines to understand the challenges that we face, and to design and develop the new methods that ensure that physical chemistry meets the demands of a growing company.
  • A PhD or good undergraduate degree in chemistry or a related discipline
  • A practical understanding of commonly-used analytical and chromatographic techniques and technologies
  • Understanding of how the physical properties of compounds influence their behaviour in biological systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to critically analyse experimental data
  • Ability to design and deliver new assays, methods and/or approaches to overcome difficult scientific problems
  • Evidence of working closely with fellow scientists in multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to deliver high quality experimental results while working to tight deadlines
