We're looking for a dynamic PHP Team Lead to lead our rapidly growing development team and drive productivity as we expand our operations internationally.

We are one of the fastest-growing E-commerce startups in the world, reaching profitability in Q4 last year with over a million in annual turnover. Our mission is to conquer the E-commerce market, aiming to take a significant market share from industry leaders. Having achieved profitability, with strong cash reserves and VC backing, we are now set to expand internationally across multiple countries, with technology at the core of our growth.

Our development department currently comprises 8 agile sprint teams, each led by a PHP team lead, including 2 senior backend developers, 1 senior frontend developer, 1 QA, and 1 product manager. We plan to add 6 more teams as part of our expansion. We seek a hands-on PHP team lead to head one of these engineering teams. Your role will be 80% hands-on development and 20% technical leadership, managing sprints for a team of 5-6 engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Lead development sprints, ensuring your team meets objectives on time
• Serve as the technical authority, making key decisions on architecture and code structure
• Promote best development practices (TDD, Unit Testing, SOLID)
• Manage team productivity and report to the head of engineering
• Line management for a sprint team of 5 people: 3 developers, 1 product owner, 1 QA
• Conduct code reviews across your team

Required Skills & Experience:

• 7+ years of PHP software engineering with high-quality coding skills
• 1+ year of technical or project leadership, managing deadlines and delivery
• Experience mentoring junior developers and conducting code reviews
• Experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
• Ability to balance coding standards with project deadlines
• Stakeholder management skills, both internally and with external investors
• Proactive attitude and comfort working under tight deadlines
• Passion for growing a business beyond a 9-5 mindset

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience in the E-commerce industry
• Familiarity with launching services in new markets/countries
