Job summary

Roc Search in Portsmouth is seeking a Senior PHP Developer to join our expanding development team. The role is onsite with hybrid options and offers up to £60k depending on experience.

You will work on large-scale web applications, customer-facing platforms, APIs, and cloud-based infrastructure. You will design, develop, and enhance software solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to address complex technical challenges and drive best practices across the development team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of PHP development experience
• Cloud infrastructure experience, GCP preferred
• Experience with MySQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Experience with code profiling and performance optimisation tools
• Strong understanding of software development best practices and design principles

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of commercial PHP development experience
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred)
• Experience working with relational and non-relational databases, including MySQL and NoSQL technologies
• Experience using Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
• Experience using code profiling and performance optimisation tools
