Role: Full Stack PHP Web Developer

Location: Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, Hybrid

Salary: circa £60,000 + Benefits (DOE)

Overview:

We are looking for either a mid-level or senior Full Stack PHP Web Developer to join a retail organization that has several new projects lined up to enhance further growth of the business.

This role will sit as part of a team of 3 Software Developers and will offer the opportunity to make a significant impact across the business as an end-to-end product developer, working with stakeholders to gather requirements and implement code.

We're seeking someone who wants to build relationships, understand complex business systems (in this case, an in-house built ERP using PHP/Laravel), and develop new features.

Key areas of the role include:

• Ensuring the maintenance and growth of the in-house built systems that underpin the organization and help generate circa £40m in revenue.
• Implementing design changes and new features as needed.
• Building solutions across the full stack, from PHP/Laravel (PHP 8+) on the back end to a Vue front end.
• Identifying problem areas within the current systems and presenting solutions.
• Working as a true end-to-end product developer, from building business knowledge to gathering requirements and implementing code.

Key skills/experience required:

• Strong track record with PHP (ideally the latest versions) in a full stack position.
• Ability to demonstrate domain knowledge from previous industries.

Beneficial skills:

• Experience with PHP 8+ and Laravel (other frameworks may be considered).
• Front-end experience with Vue, React, or similar.
• Knowledge of MySQL or similar databases.

The role is based in Stoke-on-Trent, and once familiar with the business and systems, it can be performed remotely 3 days per week.
