Our team at Skilltech is searching for a PHP developer who is a digital innovator, passionate about how technology can enable business change and loves to deliver unique solutions. The role will allow you to use your existing skills and experience to influence both the design decisions, and will require good inter-personal and collaboration skills to work with both technical and business stakeholders.

Responsible for bringing ideas to life, this role will collaborate with the wider development team and stakeholders in the business to conceive and deliver innovative solutions to a high standard.

What will you be doing?
Scope:
  • Working with the development team to ensure that high-quality solutions are delivered on time.
Coding Standards:
  • Understand and work within our standards framework.
  • Peer review colleagues' code to ensure consistency and reduce bugs.
  • Seek and identify opportunities for improvement in the codebase wherever appropriate.
Agile Process:
  • Participate in, or lead if appropriate, daily stand-up meetings with the team.
  • Help identify and work to remove bottlenecks.
  • Embrace and support Agile methods and techniques.
  • Produce specifications that deliver against acceptance criteria as described in user stories and requirement documentation.
  • Promote full business engagement in the Agile development process.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing.
Validation, Release and Deployment:
  • Understand the approach for validating the solution and work with the Development team to ensure that work is of a consistent high standard before release.
  • Coordinate the use of non-production environments to ensure the release schedule of IT is maintained.
  • Work with the Development team to deliver regular updates and fixes.
  • Ensure release notes are clear and informative.

  • Object-oriented PHP development with 2 years’ experience developing applications in a commercial environment.
  • Experience with version control (Git, SVN).
  • A logical thinker and problem solver.
