A prominent NHS Trust in Norwich seeks a Phlebotomy Manager to lead a team of 40 in delivering high-quality phlebotomy services. The Phlebotomy Department based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) is part of the Eastern Pathology Alliance (EPA), a managed Pathology network involving NNUH, the James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn. The Phlebotomy department is responsible for the provision of a phlebotomy service at NNUH only, covering daily ward-based phlebotomy on a 7 day per week basis as well as outpatient phlebotomy on the NNUH site. This is a full time substantive opportunity in a leadership role within a busy hospital department. We are seeking a candidate from a nursing background who can apply clinical skills to support the phlebotomy service and develop leadership skills in managing a busy service.
The post holder will act as technical and operational lead for Phlebotomy at NNUH and be the primary point of contact for technical and clinical advice and expertise. The role ensures provision of a high quality phlebotomy service, coordinating the service and liaising with multiple users across the Trust. The phlebotomy manager is line manager for a team of approximately 40 people and coordinates a sub team of approximately 10 bank staff.
