Walsall Council is seeking a full-time phlebotomist for Walsall Manor Hospital. The role involves blood sample collection in various settings, requiring flexibility, independence, and strong communication skills. The position supports a 7-day rota and values diversity.
We have 1 full-time (37.5 hours) position available in the phlebotomy department at Walsall Manor Hospital. The post holder will carry out phlebotomy (blood sample collection) in inpatient wards, outpatient departments, and the antenatal clinic. We also cover two external sites, for which training will be provided.
We operate a Monday to Sunday service, and the post holder will participate in a 7-day rota, including bank holidays. If you are enthusiastic, flexible, and take pride in your work, this could be a great opportunity for you.
An opportunity has arisen for experienced phlebotomists or individuals who have completed phlebotomy training to join the Phlebotomy Service at Walsall Manor Hospital.
You will be responsible for collecting blood samples from inpatients and outpatients. You should demonstrate the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a pressurized environment. Physical ability to walk, bend, and handle medium loads over extended periods is required.

The post-holder will undertake phlebotomy to facilitate timely investigations and treatments for adult patients. They will work independently, with guidance from the phlebotomy supervisor and manager as needed.
