Job description

The Phlebotomy team at Fairfield General Hospital is seeking an additional staff member to support the expansion of their multi-departmental service delivery.

The clinics will operate a 7-day service, and the post holder will be expected to work some weekends each month.

Responsibilities include taking blood samples from patients on all acute wards, including Covid and non-Covid wards, and working in the blood room within outpatient services.

Previous phlebotomy experience is advantageous but not essential. Successful candidates will attend the Level 3 Venepuncture course at the Quality and Credit Framework Unit 48, prior to practicing, with practical assessments arranged in the workplace.

Main duties involve performing venepuncture in ward and outpatient settings.

  4. Basic computer skills
  5. Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines
