Job summary

The Knoll Surgery in Frodsham is seeking an experienced Phlebotomist for maternity cover on a fixed-term basis. You will join our busy GP practice team and manage your own venepuncture clinics, ensuring accurate labeling and preparation of samples, while maintaining EMIS Web records and upholding infection control standards.

The role demands reliable, patient-centered care, strong organisation and the ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Completed phlebotomy training with demonstrable competency in venepuncture.
• Experience working directly with patients in a clinical setting.
• Ability to manage an appointment-based workload independently.
• Proficient in EMIS Web and handling samples accurately.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices.
• Willingness to undertake mandatory training and DBS checks.

Responsibilities

• Undertake venepuncture safely in line with practice protocols and competencies.
• Manage your own appointment clinics and ensure timely appointments.
• Label samples correctly and prepare specimens for laboratory collection.
• Maintain accurate patient records using EMIS Web.
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures and keep clinical areas clean.
• Work collaboratively with nursing and administrative teams and adapt to increased demand.
