Pulse AHP’s Phlebotomy Team is currently recruiting experienced Phlebotomists/Healthcare Support Workers to join the team in Somerset.

This role involves providing Phlebotomy & Healthcare Research services locally. To be successful, candidates must have at least 1 year of blood drawing experience and proof of competency.

The position is part of an established programme entering its next phase, offering ongoing work.

Position: Phlebotomist/Healthcare Support Worker
Location: Somerset
Hours: 2-3 days/week, varying shifts
Duration: Ongoing

Essential skills:

  • Recent blood drawing experience (minimum 12 months)
  • Proof of competency
  • Driving license beneficial due to mobile sites

The role requires working 2-3 days per week, including long days from 7:45 am to 6:15 pm, with Saturday hours from 8:45 am to 5:15 pm, and Sunday from 10:45 am to 4:15 pm. Positions start in July, covering areas like Bridgewater and Chard.

These are mobile sites that move every 4-5 weeks, so driving ability is advantageous.

Pay rate is up to £20/hour (umbrella rate) plus weekend enhancements.

Main responsibilities:

  • Conduct POCT cholesterol checks, including measurements and data entry
  • Draw and label blood samples correctly
  • Monitor participant welfare, escalate issues as needed
  • Provide signposting, advice, and guidance
  • Prepare samples for courier collection

Essential requirements:

  • Recent phlebotomy experience (minimum 12 months)
  • Willingness to register with our agency
