Job description

The Phlebotomist is an integral member of the WTWA clinical team: He/she will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing venepuncture on patients requiring blood tests.

Successful candidates will contribute to the efficient performance of the phlebotomy team in providing services to wards and clinics.

This role involves some cross-site working between Trafford Hospital and Altrincham Hospital.

As part of the Phlebotomist team at WTWA MFT, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Evidence of direct patient care experience in a healthcare setting.
  2. Ability to put patients at ease and remain calm in emergencies.
  3. Attention to detail to ensure positive patient identification.
  4. Ability to organise and prioritise duties and tasks.
  5. Knowledge of software packages such as Hive and Microsoft Word.
  6. Awareness of Health & Safety and Infection Control protocols in healthcare settings.
  7. Self-motivated and flexible to work mornings and afternoons.
