Swansea Bay University Health Board is recruiting for a Phlebotomy role across multiple sites in the Swansea area. You will collect blood samples by venepuncture, work across hospital wards, clinics and community settings, and provide compassionate care to patients.
Flexibility to travel between Morriston, Singleton, Neath Port Talbot Hospitals, and other sites is required, including weekend and bank holiday shifts. Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.
Applications are invited from enthusiastic and well-motivated individuals to join our team providing high quality, compassionate care to our patients. We also welcome applications from people with minimal Phlebotomy experience providing they have other required attributes. The successful candidates will be required to undertake a wide range of duties appropriate to the Phlebotomy section but will mainly be involved with the collection of blood samples by venepuncture for analysis from hospital wards, outpatients, primary care and community clinics.
We currently have hours available at our Morriston, Singleton, Neath Port Talbot Hospitals as well as NPT resource centre, Gorseinon Hospital and Central Clinic. Successful candidates will need to be able to cover any of these sites and participate in the weekend / bank holiday rota. You will be required to travel between sites in a timely manner.
Having a blood test done is often an essential step in a patient's diagnosis or treatment and the care we give makes a real difference to this journey.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Please see the attached job description and person specification for a detailed outline of the job requirements. This is available bilingually, in English and Welsh.
