Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is expanding its Phlebotomy Service. You will join a dedicated team providing front line care to hospital inpatients, outpatients and GP patients.

Role requires flexibility as service operates 7 days a week on a rota; weekends and bank holidays are required. Strong communication and organisational skills, plus venepuncture proficiency, are essential to deliver high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience or willingness to train.
• Proficient venepuncture and patient communication.
• Able to work as part of a busy hospital team.
• Willing to work weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform venepuncture on inpatients, outpatients and GP patients.
• Work on a 7-day rota including weekends and bank holidays.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ensure high standards of service delivery.

Job description

Due to the expansion of our busy service we are looking for a dynamic individuals with excellent communication skills to join our Phlebotomy Service. You will work within a dedicated team who provide front line care to hospital inpatients, outpatients & GP patients.

You will need to be flexible in your approach to working as the Phlebotomy service is provided 7 days a week operated on a rota basis. You must be willing to work weekends and bank holidays. Excellent communication and organisational skills are integral to the post. Being proficient in venepuncture is integral in this role , If you have what it takes to deliver and you want to make a difference then

You will be able to work well within a team, be able to use your initiative and be willing to acquire new skills and knowledge. Attention to detail will be a key characteristic. You will be able to work in a busy environment and have a strongly held commitment to high standards of service delivery.

Experience of dealing with patients and staff in the hospital environment or Blood Test Clinics will be of benefit.
