Job summary

Randox Health in Cardiff is seeking a Phlebotomist for our clinic located in Holland & Barrett. The role involves blood collection, data entry, and delivering excellent patient experiences in a private health setting.

We welcome experienced phlebotomists or those keen to start a career in phlebotomy. The position offers full-time, permanent hours with potential part-time options and requires Hepatitis B vaccination or consent to vaccination after interview, plus UK DBS check and right to work

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Take blood samples from private and corporate clients and record data in the Patient Information Systems (PIS).
• Schedule and conduct client appointments with care and obtain informed consent.
• Maintain accurate records and upload documentation in PIS.
• Represent Randox Health professionally at offsite events and clinics.
• Assist in upselling and cross-selling at our private health clinic.
• Drive sales and meet or exceed target metrics where applicable.
• Complete forms, label specimens, and process lab orders accurately.
• Utilise IT systems to manage daily tasks and lab workflows.
• Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean clinic environment.

Unit 4, 53-57, Queen Street, Cardiff, CF10 2AS.

Contract Offered

Full-time, permanent. We may also be able to consider those who want part-time hours.

Working Hours / Shifts

40 hours per week, alternating between Monday to Friday and Tuesday to Saturday, 8.40am to 5.20pm. Part-time and other shift options may be considered.

For this position, as you may be in contact with live blood samples, you must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or be able to get it following a successful interview stage.

In line with Care Quality Commission guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Right to Work Requirement

Please note that this role requires candidates to have the legal right to work in the UK for a minimum of 12 months from the application date. This is to ensure completion of our 9-month probationary period and for any potential sponsorship decisions to be considered. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship at the point of hire.

This role is responsible for ensuring customers have an excellent experience from the moment they enter our clinic, taking blood samples from both private and corporate clients. This is a varied role that may also include the following responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into our Patient Information Systems (PIS).
• Demonstrate sensitive communication to ensure client understanding and consent.
• Maintain accurate records in PIS, uploading all relevant documentation.
• Represent the company professionally at offsite events and appointments.
• Engage in upselling and cross-selling at our private health clinic.
• Proactively drive sales and exceed targets.
• Complete company forms, specimen labelling, and laboratory test order forms accurately.
• Demonstrate high IT literacy in order to manager various software systems and daily tasks.
• General housekeeping duties

Essential criteria:

• Previous Phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.
• Confident using IT programmes.
• Flexibility with working hours, as required by the business inclusive of evenings and weekends.
• Flexibility to work from offsite locations at least once per month.
• Currently have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
• Valid UK driving licence

Desirable:

• Experience in a private healthcare setting.
• Exeperience in customer service.
• 2 years experience in Phlebotomy.
• Sales / Retail experience.
