Based at Jubilee Campus within the Power Electronics, Machines and Control (PEMC) Research Group, the successful candidate will work in a leading centre and contribute to

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in electrical/electronic engineering or a closely related field.
  • Strong background in high-voltage engineering or related areas advantageous.
  • Knowledge of COMSOL Multiphysics and MATLAB.
  • Programming and experimental hardware skills desirable.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Good presentation, communication and scientific writing skills.
  • Eligibility: UK candidates only.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct extensive experimental testing on winding insulation.
  • Develop insulation lifetime models under electrical, thermal, pressure and mechanical stresses.
  • Study partial discharge inception, degradation and endurance.
  • Predict insulation lifetime under realistic operating conditions.
  • Collaborate with PEMC researchers and publish results.
