Swansea University (Singleton Campus) invites applications for a First Stage Researcher (R1) to join a Leverhulme Trust-funded project led by Dr Christopher Baker in the Surface Dynamics Laboratory. The PhD student will work on applying the spin echo principle to study the effect of gravity on antimatter, combining numerical and experimental approaches.

Qualifications

  • PhD applicants must hold an undergraduate degree at 2.1 level or a master’s degree with Merit.
  • IELTS 6.0 overall (no component below 5.5) or Swansea equivalent.
  • ATAS clearance not required for the scholarship process.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out innovative research in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Use numerical and experimental work to study gravity effects on antimatter.
