Job summary

Google Inc. offers Software Engineering or Site Reliability Engineering internships for PhD students in the UK. This internship targets penultimate or final year PhD candidates enrolled in full-time programs within the EMEA region and requires full-time availability for 13 weeks during Summer 2027 (May, June, or July).

• Enrolled in a full-time PhD program in Computer Science or related field in the EMEA, in penultimate or final year.
• Located in the UK for the duration of the internship.
• Available to work full-time for 13 weeks in Summer 2027 (May–July).
• Not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Research, conceive and develop software applications to extend and improve Google’s product offering.
• Contribute to projects using NLP, AI, data compression, ML, and search technologies.
• Collaborate on scalability issues involving data access and information.
• Help maintain mission-critical services.
