Job summary

The University of Strathclyde in Glasgow is seeking an Ultrasonic Inspection R&D Engineer (KTP Associate) to develop advanced phased array ultrasonic inspection technologies for safety-critical large-scale components.

Based in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, you will collaborate with NOV and academic researchers to model, test, and calibrate PAUT workflows for industrial deployment over a 21-month fixed-term project.

Qualifications

• Engineer or applied physicist with ultrasonic testing or NDE experience.
• Knowledge of wave propagation and ultrasonic inspection.
• Experience with modelling, experimental validation and calibration for complex geometries.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced phased array ultrasonic inspection methodologies (PAUT).
• Conduct modelling, experimental validation and industrial testing.
• Collaborate with university researchers and NOV engineering teams.
• Design bespoke calibration approaches for complex geometries.
