Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde's Clinical Trials Pharmacy team at Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre is seeking a Pharmacy Support Worker. You will assist in ensuring safe supply of medicines to patients enrolled in clinical trials and support day-to-day operations within the dispensary.

Development includes on-the-job training and an SVQ in Pharmacy Services Group Award, aligning with General Pharmaceutical Council requirements.

Qualifications

Proficient level of general education at National 5/Standard Grade level or above – essential.
Previous experience in healthcare, pharmacy or a customer-facing role – essential.
Proficient IT skills, including typing.
Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office packages, including Word and Excel.
Experience using email systems, including Outlook.
Experience using stock control systems – desirable.
Ability to plan and organise workload to meet the demanding needs of the service.
Willingness to undertake the SVQ in Pharmacy Services Group Award at SCQF Level 6.
Willingness to undertake and successfully complete the comprehensive on-the-job training programme.

Responsibilities

Support delivery of Clinical Trials Pharmacy services and safe supply of medicines.
Work as part of the Clinical Trials Pharmacy team.
Contribute to efficient operation of the Clinical Trials Dispensary.
Undertake SVQ in Pharmacy Services Group Award as part development.
