Job summary

NHS Scotland invites applications for a registered Pharmacy Technician to join the Argyll & Bute pharmacy and vaccination services. The role requires NVQ Level 3 or BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences and GPhC registration, strong communication and IT skills, and a full driving licence for business use.

You will work under pharmacists and senior colleagues to manage vaccines and medicines across Vaccination Services and CTAC, handling stock, records, cold chain, and governance tasks across multiple

Qualifications

• Qualified Pharmacy Technician with NVQ Level 3 or BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
• GPhC registration and a full driving licence are required.
• Excellent communication, numeracy, organisation and IT skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Participate in stock management, including receipt, storage, ordering, stock checks, expiry-date monitoring, distribution and disposal.
• Maintain accurate electronic and paper records and use stock-management systems to issue and receive stock.
• Support cold chain and quality assurance activities, including temperature monitoring and escalation of discrepancies.
• Assist with stock reconciliation, audit, data collection, reporting and actions to reduce vaccine wastage.
• Respond to routine queries and refer complex matters to pharmacists or senior colleagues.
• Support medicines governance, safety alerts, incident reporting and procedures.
• Collaborate with pharmacy, nursing and primary care teams across multiple sites in Argyll & Bute.
