Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for aPharmacy Technician Team Lead - Mental Health based at Woodland View Hospital.
What you will do:
The successful candidate will manage the operational day-to-day aspects of the pharmacy service at Woodland View pharmacy and have a clinical commitment across wards and clinic areas and a remit that reaches across Acute, Primary Care and Community services- leading on the Clozapine Service and providing training and support to community pharmacy staff. You will be accountable to the Chief Pharmacy Technician, University Hospital Crosshouse and Operational Services, for the safe, effective and consistent delivery of all acute pharmacy operational services at your base hospital. You will provide professional leadership for pharmacy technicians, pre-registration pharmacy technicians, foundation pharmacists and pharmacy support workers working within your base site, including rotational staff- co-ordinating training and experience for all grades of staff. You will support the planning, development, monitoring, audit, evaluation and delivery of all technical aspects of the pharmacy service in Mental Health whilst ensuring that working practices meet the requirements of medicines legislation, local and national guidelines and implements changes thereby ensuring the delivery of a comprehensive, high-quality service

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
SQA National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences and SVQ Level 7- Pharmacy Services. Registered as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council. SQA Higher National Unit – Final Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician. HNC Pharmaceutical Sciences/BTEC (or demonstrable experience across a broad range of hospital pharmacy). LD9DI Assessor for SVQ Level 6 and Level 7 Pharmacy Services. PDA- Assessment of individual patient’s medicines. Substantial technical pharmacy experience, with relevant experience as a Pharmacy Technician Higher level. Relevant management experience. Experience in service provision and development. Good problem solving skills. Good organisational skills Required to demonstrate an advanced level of pharmacy knowledge, skills, technical reasoning and judgement.
