Job summary

PICS is recruiting a Pharmacy Technician to join our team of Clinical Pharmacists at Ashfield North PCN. The successful candidate will support medicines optimisation across GP practices and care homes, under supervision, and contribute to safe, cost-effective prescribing.

You will work with Senior Pharmacy staff, access CPPE pathway for development, participate in care home rounds with GPs, and be part of a multi-disciplinary PCN team across Sutton in Ashfield.

Qualifications

• General Pharmaceutical Council professional registration.
• Good clinical knowledge and understanding of pharmacy law, ethics, and current legislation.
• Evidence of continued professional development.

Responsibilities

• You will be part of a wider team of Pharmacy staff, supporting the care homes, while being supported by our Clinical Lead who is on the PICS leadership team.
• Undertake patient facing and patient supporting roles to ensure effective medicines use, through shared decision-making conversations.
• Carry out medicines optimisations tasks including effective medicine administration, supporting medication reviews and medicine reconciliation.
• Support the Clinical Pharmacists in Structured Medication Review and organise necessary monitoring tests.
• Promote antimicrobial stewardship to reduce inappropriate antibiotic prescribing locally.
• Promote Electronic Repeat Dispensing and online ordering through the NHS App.
• Assist in streamlining prescription requests with practice reception teams.
