Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Part time Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Lewes, a category B men's prison. This site has both a pharmacy and dispenser with a strong, integrated team and due to growth is looking for more Technicians. This site offers learning and development opportunities and career progression including ACPT training. There is a great opportunity for overtime which is paid at the bank rate.

Hours

28.5 hours a week, working Monday to Sunday (9.5 hours x 3 days).

Salary

This position is full time; you’ll receive an annual salary up to £33,454 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Provide outstanding quality based patient-centred care to patients, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Focus on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards, from timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our health in justice medicines policy.
  • Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Up to date with Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
  • Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
  • General GCSE education or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
