An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified GPhC registered pharmacy technician to join our friendly pharmacy team at Morriston Hospital in Swansea.
This role will predominantly be to support the lead technician for Education and Training. The successful candidate will be required to mentor and train new and junior staff within the department, supporting them to complete a range of local competencies and training programmes.
We are looking for a conscientious individual, who is motivated and can work as part of a team, has a flexible approach towards the needs of the service, and able to demonstrate professionalism possessing both excellent organisational and communication skills.
The innovative and friendly pharmacy team is well established within the health board. We are both ambitious and motivated, focusing our work around the best interests of our patients and continuously striving to improve the services we provide.
Applicants will be required to take part in the weekend, bank holiday and locking up rota.
Responsibilities will include supporting pre-registration pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants to complete specific training programmes.
Supervisor experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
Mentoring and leadership support for existing staff to allow development and upskilling.
You will need to have previous experience of working in an acute hospital ward environment and be motivated, have effective communication and negotiating skills, working closely with patients and the multi-disciplinary team.
You will be required to work under pressure and alone with excellent prioritisation skills. Applicants must be registered as a pharmacy technician with the GPhC and have completed both your ACPT and MMPT accreditation.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
