Job summary

Spectrum Community Health CIC is recruiting a Pharmacy Technician to join our integrated clinical workforce at HMP Liverpool. You will supply or administer medications and support medicines management across a diverse patient population within a supportive team.

Candidates should hold NVQ level 3 in Pharmacy services, be a registered technician, and have knowledge of medicines optimisation and prison-specific issues. Training opportunities and a collaborative work culture are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacy Technician status required.
• Knowledge of medicines optimisation and clinical governance.

We are looking to support and develop the skills of pharmacy technicians to provide a varied range of services. If you are interested in this post, you will need a minimum of NVQ level 3 in Pharmacy services and be a registered pharmacy technician.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To supply or administer medication including controlled drugs.
Support the delivery of medicines management services, primary care, health,promotion and education.

Person specification

• BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical services
• Appropriate accredited technican checking qualification
• Knowledge of medicines optimisation
• Pharmacy legal requirements and controlled drug legislation
• Knowledge of Pharmacy Computer systems
• Substance misuse knowledge
• Has good understanding of security issues in relation to prison
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Able to prepare reports and bulletins
