Job summary

The Meriden Hospital, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy department on a 24-hour-per-week basis. You will dispense medicines, support wards and ensure safe distribution in a hospital setting.

Applicants must be GPhC-registered with NVQ Level 3 Diploma or equivalent and have experience in hospital pharmacy. A comprehensive benefits package is offered by Circle Health Group.

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent.
• Experience in hospital or healthcare pharmacy settings.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Dispense and prepare medicines accurately in line with prescriptions and legal requirements.
• Supply medications to wards, theatres and outpatient departments with safe, timely distribution.
• Participate in ward-based activities including stock top-ups and medicines reconciliation.
• Maintain stock levels across pharmacy and clinical units.
• Adhere to policies, procedures and legislation including GPhC standards and infection prevention.
• Communicate effectively with pharmacy staff, nursing teams and patients.
• Maintain GPhC registration.

Pharmacy Technician The Meriden Hospital 24 Hours & Permanent

Salary: Up to £28,000.00 FTE per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

The Meriden Hospital in Coventry is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for an Pharmacy Technician to join their team of staff in the Pharmacy department.

This is a part time role for 24 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• Dispense and prepare medicines accurately in accordance with prescriptions and legal requirements.
• Supply medications to wards, theatres, and outpatient departments, ensuring safe and timely distribution.
• Participate in ward-based activities, including stock top-ups, medicines reconciliation, and patient counselling (within scope).
• Maintain appropriate levels of stock across all areas of the pharmacy and clinical units.
• Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and legislation, including GPhC standards, health and safety, and infection prevention.
• Communicate effectively with pharmacy colleagues, nursing staff, consultants, and patients.
• Maintain registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

Applicants should meet the following criteria:
