Job summary

Nuffield Health Cardiff and Vale Hospitals is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for our on-site team at Cardiff & Vale Hospital on a bank, ad hoc basis. You will work alongside the Pharmacy Manager, providing in-house services, assisting with dispensing, and handling procurement, stock control, and ward replenishment.

Regular attendance at department meetings will be part of the role. Applicants should hold NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy service or equivalent, be registered with the General Pharmaceutical

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy service or equivalent required.
• GPhC registration is required.
• Hospital experience preferred or 2 years community experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential.
• Strong IT skills and customer service focus required.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, friendly and highly motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our small Pharmacy onsite team. Working closely with our Pharmacy Manager, as a Pharmacy Technician you will have defined responsibilities including but not limited to,

• Providing in house pharmacy services
• Assist with dispensing
• Carry out procurement, distribution, stock taking and the replenishment of pharmacy items to the ward and departments.
• Attending hospital and department meetings

The Person

To succeed as a Pharmacy Technician you will;

• Will have NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy service or equivalent
• You must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Experience of working in a hospital of at least one year is preferred or at least two years community experience.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong IT skills.
• Excellent people and customer service skills are essential, as you will be working closely both with patients and the hospital team.
• Be highly organised and an analytical individual, you will have excellent attention to detail
• Have the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
