Job summary

Corby, UK — A Pharmacy Technician Apprentice is sought to join a busy pharmacy team and progress to a registered technician. You will support the safe, effective and lawful supply of medicines while working with pharmacists and the wider healthcare team.

Training will be Pharmacy Technician (Integrated) Level 3, with blended learning alongside your job. Potential for full-time employment on successful completion and transferable skills for future roles in healthcare.

Qualifications

• GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent in Maths and English desired but not essential as included in course.
• Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent required for course entry where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Managing, ordering, receiving and supplying medicines and pharmaceutical products safely and accurately
• Providing person-centred advice to patients on prescription and OTC medicines
• Supporting day-to-day running of the pharmacy, including stock control and governance
• Supervising and supporting staff as you progress in the role
• Assisting with training and mentoring new staff
• Maintaining high standards through auditing and feedback responses

Brief Description

NN17 1LJ We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice to join a busy pharmacy team. This role is ideal for someone looking to progress within pharmacy and develop the skills and knowledge needed to become a registered Pharmacy Technician.

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.

For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

Skills Required

Key responsibilities

• Managing, ordering, receiving and supplying medicines and pharmaceutical products safely and accurately


• Providing person‑centred advice to patients on prescription and over‑the‑counter medicines, referring to healthcare professionals where appropriate


• Supporting the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, including business processes, stock control and clinical governance


• Supervising and supporting pharmacy support staff as you progress in the role


• Assisting with training and mentoring new members of staff


• Maintaining high standards through auditing, evaluating services and responding to feedback

Apprenticeship & qualification

• Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship (equivalent to A‑level)


• On successful completion, you will be eligible to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)


• Training delivered through a blended learning approach alongside your job
