Beauchief Medical Practice in Sheffield offers a two-year Level 3 Pharmacy Technician apprenticeship split between the GP practice and a partner community pharmacy. The apprentice supports medicines supply, prescription processing and stock management under supervision.

This placement provides experience in both primary care and community pharmacy while training towards registration as a Pharmacy Technician.

Qualifications

• GCSE English language at grade 4/C or above (or Functional Skills Level 2).
• GCSE Mathematics at grade 4/C or above (or Functional Skills Level 2).
• GCSE Science at grade 4/C or above.

Responsabilités

• Support safe supply of medicines in GP practice and community pharmacy.
• Process prescriptions, including repeats, and medicines administration.
• Order, store, monitor and rotate medicines stock; report shortages.
• Assist with medicines reconciliation after hospital discharge.
• Support medicines reviews and medicines optimisation.
• Answer routine medicines queries from patients and professionals.
• Maintain accurate, timely records using pharmacy IT systems.
• Complete apprenticeship training, coursework and assessments.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
• Follow policies, health and safety rules and infection control.
