We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Five Wells, a category C Prison located in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.

The prison has its own pharmacy on site with 7 wings, each with a medical admin.

Our Pharmacy team is currently made up of:

  • 1 Pharmacy Manager
  • 3 Pharmacists
  • 2 Senior Pharmacy Technicians
  • 4 Pharmacy Technicians
  • 4 Pharmacy Assistants

Shift pattern currently is:

  • Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday
  • Week 2 - Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
  • View to work 1 in 4 weekends soon.

This position is full time; you’ll receive an annual salary up to £40,211 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • You will assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.
  • You will be required to work within the healthcare department and hold direct patient contact, which will be part of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison services needs.
  • Promote safe patient care
  • Develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.
