Job summary

Boots is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to deliver patient-centred service in our community stores across the UK. You’ll triage patients, advise on medicines, and support the pharmacy team with dispensing and service delivery.

You'll lead by coaching the dispensary team, ensure safe practice, complete pre-employment checks, and benefit from Boots' development opportunities, including CPD and flexible benefits.

Qualifications

• Registered with the GPhC or respective regulator.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert, tailored advice on medicines and products.
• Deliver store services as required.

• Manage stock, orders, receiving, and controlled drugs with patient safety in mind.

What You’ll Be Doing

Our Pharmacy Technicians make a real difference by delivering outstanding patient-centred service to the communities we serve; from triaging patients, to inspiring and coaching the healthcare team, and providing expert technical advice on the supply of medicines.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing expert, tailored advice to patients about available medicines, products or Macmillan Cancer Support.
• Delivering various services dependant on the store needs.
• Building great relationships with your pharmacy team; coaching and inspiring them to deliver the highest standard of care.
• Assisting with the triage of patients and distributing prescription handouts.
• Taking ownership for legal, safe and ethical decision-making in the pharmacy.
• Manage operational tasks including replenishing stock, workload management, order fulfilment, receiving and handling controlled drugs whilst ensuring patient safety.

What You’ll Need To Have (our Must-haves)

• Registered with the relevant pharmacy regulator (GPhC, PSNI, PSI)
• A genuine excitement for coaching and leading a dispensary team
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Motivation to change things for the better for our teams, customers and patients
• A desire to deliver services and outstanding patient care.
• Ability to use pharmacy systems and technology

It would be great if you also have

Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician with checking capability - however this is not essential as training will be given.
