Qualifications

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Dovegate, a category B Prison located in Uttoxeter in Staffordshire.

In this role you will have the opportunity to provide the highest standards of healthcare to our patients, without having to compromise on efficiency and quality.

Hours

Mon - Fri: 06:45 - 18:15

Sat, Sun and BH: 07:45 - 18:15

This position is a full-time position working 37.5 hours; however, part-time hours can be considered.

You will receive an annual salary between £27,247 - £32,346 per annum, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service.
  • Work within the healthcare department and hold direct patient contact, which will be part of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison services needs.
  • Deliver the highest standard of care to clients in line with National Guidelines.

Job responsibilities

As a GPHC registered pharmacy technician with Practice Plus Group, you will become an integral member of the pharmacy team, as well as a valued member of the multidisciplinary clinical healthcare team.

You will:

  • Provide outstanding quality-based patient-centred care to our patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Deliver non-judgmental care within the scope of professional standards, involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost-effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy. You will make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links within our teams, our partners, and stakeholders, providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within, and feel proud of. Work together to make a difference to all the people we support, and make Practice Plus Group a place where each of us feels appreciated, challenged, and supported to do our best work fulfilling the lives of others.
  • Promote best practice, evidence-based care, and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning. Communicate complex or sensitive information whilst demonstrating empathy and understanding to patients.
  • Share information relating to pharmaceutical products, medicines optimisation, drug regimes, medicines legislation, and general health education so that the multidisciplinary healthcare team are appropriately informed.
