Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Dovegate, a category B Prison located in Uttoxeter in Staffordshire. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide the highest standards of healthcare to our patients, without having to compromise on efficiency and quality.

Hours: 37.5 hours a week - working 07:00 - 18:00 across 3 days on a rolling rota. One in 4 weekends working 07:45-18:15 weekends and some bank holidays. Part-time hours can be considered.

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Provide outstanding quality-based patient-centered care to our patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback so that care is personalized and informed by what matters to them.
  • Focusing on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed.
  • Administration of medicines through to analyzing cost-effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links within our teams, our partners, and stakeholders.
  • Promote best practice, evidence-based care, and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
  • Share information relating to pharmaceutical products, medicines optimization, drug regimes, medicines legislation, and general health education so that the multidisciplinary healthcare team are appropriately informed.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC, or equivalent.
