Job description

Due to theexpansion of our established pharmacy team we are seeking an experienced PharmacyTechnician. The role is part time of 30 hrs per week, split across the week andwill need to incorporate our business hours of 7.30am to 6.30pm.

The successful candidate will be passionateand enthusiastic, well organised, highly motivated and skilled in their role,who will work under the supervision of our Clinical Pharmacists, within theirscope of practice. Supporting the practice with improvements to maximise safe,cost effective best practice in prescribing to improve the quality of patientcare within the practice & PCN.

You will support all aspects ofmedicines management within the practice, including medication reviews andmedicines reconciliation. You will also manage medication queries and repeatprescribing systems in the practice.

A strong commitment to personal andprofessional development and teamwork are essential for this role.

Crown HouseSurgery is a well established, forwarded thinking & supportive GPpartnership of 7 GPs, made up of a friendly team providing care to over 11,600patients. The practiceis part ofRetford & Villages PCN, the role will be employed by Retford & VillagesPCN via Fidelium Health (FHL), the position is fully embedded, and HRManagement will be at Crown House Surgery. Your contract of employment willalign with the policies and procedures of this practice.

The practice has a widemultidisciplinary team, with a nursing team with expertise in chronic diseaseand treatment room skills and other Allied Health Professionals includingClinical Pharmacists, two other Pharmacy Technicians and a Social Prescriber.

We are committed to delivering highquality care with a focus on continuity. We operate a usual doctor system, howeverour expectation is for the wider clinical workforce and usual doctor to offercontinuity of care with a team level approach.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Successful completion or working towards the CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway - enrolment of the course can be undertaken at the start of employment if not already completed or currently being undertaken.
  • Good clinical IT system knowledge
  • Knowledge of other IT systems, including ability to use word processing skills, emails and the internet based applications.
Experience
  • Experience working as a qualified, registered pharmacy technician
  • Understanding of prescribing and medicines management issues
  • Good clinical pharmaceutical knowledge including terminology
  • An appreciation of the nature of primary care prescribing, concepts of rational prescribing and strategies to improve prescribing
  • Ability to listen, empathise with people and provide person centred support in a non-judgemental way
  • Able to get along with people from all backgrounds and communities, respecting lifestyles and diversity
