Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Mental Health team at HMP Highpoint, a category C prison located in the village of Stradishall in Suffolk.

Highpoint is a male prison with a capacity of 1370 males. You will be based within the healthcare department but will also go out to the wings to administer medication. The pharmacy team consists of 5 members. Highpoint Prison offers:

Hours
  • This role is permanent, 37.5 hours per week over 4 days
  • Monday - Friday
  • 7.45am - 6.15pm
Salary

This is a full-time position with an annual salary up to £36,500 depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide patient-centered care, listening to and acting on patient feedback
  • Ensure safe medicines management and maintain medical records to standard
  • Deliver non-judgemental care within professional standards, including medication administration and cost-effective prescribing
  • Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Qualifications and experience
  • NVQ Level 3 or above, BTEC or equivalent
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Up-to-date CPD
  • Relevant pharmacy experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently following policies and procedures

Experience in hospital, community, or prison environments is desirable but not essential.
