As a Network Technician, you will play a crucial role inensuring the safe and effective use of medications, providing pharmaceuticalcare and expertise to patients, and collaborating with healthcare professionalsto deliver exceptional patient outcomes. About us

North Liverpool is the largest PCN in Liverpool with 21 practices and a weighted population size of approximately 150,000 patients. We have a large pharmacy team consisting of 14 pharmacists and 9 technicians. We offer supportive induction training to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to become an effective member of the team. We also offer training and education to support you to develop further.

Job responsibilities

Responsibilities

Collaboratewith pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implementpersonalised medication therapy plans.

Resolvemedication related problems for patients and support medication management andcounselling

Managepatient profiles, including medication history, allergies, and currentprescriptions

Providepatient education on medication use, potential side effects, and druginteractions.

Assist inquality improvement initiatives, including medication error prevention

Conductmedication reconciliation and identify discrepancies to ensure accurate andup to date medication lists.

Participatein multidisciplinary meetings to discuss patient care and optimise treatmentoutcomes.

Stay upto date with current literature and guidelines to provide evidence basedpharmaceutical care.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmacy services
  • 2 year experience in a hospital, community or primary care pharmacy
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Clear, polite telephone manner
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office packages and case management systems
  • Knowledge of the principles of medication optimisation
  • Good pharmacy knowledge including terminology
  • An appreciation of the nature of primary care prescribing, concepts of rational prescribing and strategies for improvement of prescribing
  • Knowledge and understanding of pharmacy law and ethics and current legislation
  • Understanding of current national policies, in particular those that impact on medicines management services
  • Effective time management (Planning & Organising)
  • High levels of analytical literacy skills
