Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HM The Mount, a category C training prison built on the site of a former RAF station on the outskirts of Bovingdon village, Hertfordshire.

In this role, you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.

Hours

Monday to Friday: 07:30 - 17:30 (37.5 hrs per week).

You will receive an annual salary up to £43,534 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing safe and secure medicines management and reconciliation services to the agreed standards.
  • Managing prescriptions and interventions, providing face-to-face advice to patients.
  • Ensuring continuity of care upon patient discharge.
  • Building strong relationships within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Sharing information related to medicines optimisation and drug regimes.

Experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment is preferred but not essential.

Job responsibilities

As a GPHC-registered pharmacy technician with Practice Plus Group, you will be a key member of the pharmacy team and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Providing patient-centred, high-quality care, listening to and acting on patient feedback.
  • Ensuring safe medicines management, maintaining accurate medical records, and following standard operating procedures.
  • Delivering non-judgmental care within professional standards, including medication administration and cost-effective prescribing.
  • Building strong links within teams and stakeholders, and providing trustworthy, safe, and proud services.
  • Promoting best practice, evidence-based care, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Sharing information on pharmaceuticals, medicines optimisation, drug regimes, legislation, and health education.
