A healthcare provider in Gloucester is looking for a proactive Pharmacy Technician to join their Primary Care Network. In this role, you will provide clinical support, engage directly with patients, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care through effective medicines management. Key qualifications include being a GPhC-registered Pharmacy Technician with at least 2 years of experience and strong organisational skills.
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our Primary Care Network (PCN) team, playing a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. This is a varied and rewarding position that combines medicines optimisation, clinical support, and direct patient engagement to improve outcomes and reduce medicines-related risks for our patients.
Aspen is a large single-practice PCN; you1ll work closely with pharmacy staff and prescription clerks, receiving direct support and supervision to thrive in your role.
As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with GPs, clinical pharmacists, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure patients receive safe, effective, and evidence-based treatment. You will be instrumental in supporting prescribing processes, resolving medication-related queries, and contributing to the development of safer, more efficient systems for repeat prescribing and medicines reconciliation.
A significant part of your role will involve running your own clinics, particularly for those with uncomplicated hypertension and hypercholesterolaemia, as well as other long-term conditions such as asthma, COPD, and hypothyroidism. These clinics will focus on medication reviews, monitoring requirements, and supporting patients to optimise their use of medicines. You will be empowered to make recommendations for therapy changes in line with clinical protocols and in collaboration with senior pharmacists and GPs.
This is a forward-thinking role with scope to develop and shape services, particularly in the area of long-term condition management. You will be encouraged to take initiative, contribute to service development, and work collaboratively across the PCN to deliver consistent, high-quality care.
We are looking for someone who is not only technically skilled and knowledgeable, but also patient-focused, organised, and confident in communicating with both patients and professionals.
Aspen Medical Practice was formed in 2018 with the merger of 4 practices, making it the largest surgery in Gloucestershire with over 30,000 patients. Since also becoming the first single surgery Primary Care Network in Gloucestershire, Aspen has been developing its teams to maximise the efficiencies and reach that a large-scale organisation can mobilise for its patients.
Operating from a modern main super surgery in central Gloucester and two branch surgeries, we work together as one team to provide the best possible service we can for our patients and their families.
