Job description

As the largest independent provider of NHS services, Practice Plus Group is delivering a new model of Integrated Urgent Care that reduces pressures on services and staff. By bringing together NHS 111 call centres, clinical assessment, and other urgent care services, we enable patients to access the right care when they need it. It's better for everyone.

Main duties of the job
  • Undertake medicine management audits to ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Develop action plans from audit results and actively follow-up.
  • Monitor, trend, risk assess, and review quality exception and error reports as part of the quality review process, ensuring deviations from relevant standards are investigated and followed up.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in all local pharmacy procedures.
  • Conduct weekly visits to all bases to replenish Morphine and undertake stock control of medication and supplies.
  • Perform monthly prescribing analysis and provide feedback to clinicians as needed.
  • Assist with low-level Datix investigations of medicine-related incidents, complaints, and healthcare professional feedback after training.
  • Support stock checks and new pharmacist inductions.
  • Chair medicines management meetings and produce a monthly management bulletin.
  • Undertake core medicine management audits as required by the organization or ICB.
  • Review and act on CAS/MRHA alerts.
  • Support the Medical and Clinical Leads with CD ordering and receiving.
  • Produce slides for quality assurance meetings.
  • Undertake core ICB reporting requirements.
About us

Essential: BTEC, NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent for GPhC registration. Evidence of ongoing professional development. Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC. Accuracy checking accreditation. Proven post-qualification dispensary experience in community or hospital pharmacy. Knowledge of clinical governance and medicines management concepts.

Desirable: CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway or willingness to pursue.

Job responsibilities
