Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Stocken, a category C prison located in Oakham.

HMP Stocken houses 1,285 adult males. The pharmacy at HMP Stocken is not a dispensary pharmacy; instead, there are 6 dispensary hatches within medication and administration points. The pharmacy team comprises a Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, and a Dispenser.

Hours

The site currently operates from Monday to Friday, 07:30-17:30, and on Saturday, Sunday, and bank holidays from 08:30-17:30.

Salary

This is a full-time position with an annual salary of up to £40,211, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
  • Maintaining patient medical records to the required standard and ensuring SOP compliance
  • Ensuring the timely administration of medicines and analyzing cost-effective prescribing as per our medicines policy
  • Collaborating to make a positive difference in the lives of those we support
  • Communicating complex or sensitive information with empathy and understanding
  • Sharing information related to pharmaceutical products, medicines optimisation, drug regimes, legislation, and health education with the healthcare team

Qualifications and experience

Experience in hospital, community, or prison environments is desirable but not essential.
